New Orleans is a special place for Chip, not only because of his two PGA TOUR victories in the Crescent City, but also because it is his mother’s hometown. Chip’s mom, Dolores, grew up in New Orleans and attended college there at Loyola University. It was at Loyola University that Chip’s parents-Dr. Charles H. Beck (a dentist) and Dolores Patron Beck (who majored in Medical Technology)–met, dated and married. Chip’s maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jose Patron, along with numerous cousins and family friends, were able to witness Chip’s TOUR victories in New Orleans in 1989 and 1992. Now, that’s home cooking New Orleans style!
